The 7 unsuccessful habits of home owners in pest control

Seven Reasons Why Homeowners Fail at Pest Control in the Metro Area
Regardless if you are dealing with ants, bed bugs, termites or animals in the roof the chances are before you call a pest professional like Kill a Bug Johannesburg South & Alberton , you will or have committed at least 7 critical mistakes.  Most, if not every pest problem, is easy to solve if the pest company gets the first crack but as the homeowner goes through each of the 7 phases the problem often gets worse.
1- DENIAL - We have all done it, see a problem, ignore it and hope it goes away.  The problem with pest issues is they can linger for months and grow larger and more difficult to eradicate or control.  They do NOT go away.  If problems are addressed as soon as you see them, the fix is easy.
2- DELAY- Once you acknowledge the problem (like the leaky tap) you delay dealing with it and just like that leak, it gets worse.  Once you acknowledge the problem, confront it.  The “Honey Do” list with pest can be very significant if you fail to work it.
3- EXPERIMENT- Homeowners like doing things themselves; we try simple things to “make the problem go away”.  You would be surprised at some of the things people try to get rid of simple pest problems.  Most have no effect and some are often a worse threat than the pest.
4- WORSHIPING THE INTERNET- Today we are especially predisposed to believe anything we read on the internet.  Some homeowners will purchase outlandish, non-chemical remedies to common pest problems that NEVER work.  While the homeowner applies these “lightening in a bottle” remedies the problem continues to get worse and worse.
5- FAILURE TO SEE THE BIG PICTURE- Even professional pest control companies like Kill a Bug (JSA) cannot solve the problem with “chemicals” alone.  There are reasons pest(s) were attracted to your house and to be successful you have to identify the reason and caused the infestation.  Successful pest control is a series of Mechanical, Cultural and Chemical adjustments.  One alone will not solve the problem.
6- BAD ADVICE- After months of dealing with the problem the homeowner admits defeat and seeks a friend or company to assist in dealing with the problem.  The first place most turn is the yellow pages or advice from someone they know that “knows someone”.  If you get a company that is not legit you wind up not only wasting money but failing to control the problem.  Now you have spent money, not solved the problem and it is getting worse.
7- GIVE UP- Often homeowners just throw their hands up and go back to step one and repeat the mistakes.  The pest(s) problems become chronic and people resign themselves to live with it.
The answer is simple, address problems as soon as you see them by way of inspection (we do not charge for inspections).  Let a professional deal with it, after the inspection, if you feel good about us, let us know and we will work with you to resolve your pest problem.
Lastly, do not expect immediate results, you have allowed the problem to stew for a long time, it will take more than one treatment to fix it.   Call Kill A Bug (KABJSA) now, inspections are free, don’t commit the 7 unsuccessful habits of Homeowners.
